The Intuitive Art Festival is a two-day celebration of spiritual thinkers, energy healers, holistic healing professionals and psychic readers from across Vancouver Island. There will be workshops and events showcasing everything from reiki to healing crystals. Admission is only $10 per person (which is a small price to pay for a glimpse into the future).

Nov. 2 | The Future is Queer It’s a night of live performances from Sweet Tooth Burlesque Revue, Queen TIARA Manila, Drag House Bromance, Adam Lamborghini: Drag King, Junk Male and more for this LGBTQ2S+ fundraiser. Door prizes, a silent auction and good-old-fashioned 50/50 draw are just icing on the rainbow cake. All proceeds go directly towards organizations providing safe and accessible counselling services. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Salt Spring Island

Now through Nov. 13 | Shadow Show Artist Melanie Thompson is offering viewers a chance to see sculptures in a different light with her Shadow Show. Working with materials that play with light and transparency, she’s created a series of woven, delicate pieces that range from alien oblongs and vases to vaguely cocoon-like forms. Not only does the sculptural object confront the eye with something new, but there’s this other dimension, a shadow world that tells a different story entirely.
